When you see a Scuba tank or B.A. cylinder being filled in Fiji - it's probably being filled on a Poseidon Compressor sold by Scubahire! 30 years ago when Scubahire established the Scuba Diving Industry in Fiji, the company took over a Dunlop Aviation compressor from Fiji Gas Company, who had been using it to fill B.A. fire fighting cylinders for the fire brigade and visiting ships, etc. Scubahire soon acknowledged that a top Scuba compressor agency was required for Fiji. This was at the same time that Poseidon Kompressoren became established in Austria - and Scubahire has been their Fiji distributing agent ever since. Dozens of Poseidon compressors have been imported into Fiji by Scubahire Limited, and maintained by the company for their owners. The National Fire Authority (then the Suva Fire Brigade) was one of the first customers for a Poseidon Compressor from Scubahire Limited in 1975. The machine was purchased after a fire very nearly wiped out Burns Philp main Suva store, during which Dave Evans of Scubahire spent the night outside the store filling over 40 B.A. cylinders for the firemen fighting the fire. The then Fire Chief, Harold Henderson, signed a contract to purchase a 7cfm Poseidon compressor from Scubahire the following day. The same machine, which has been maintained annually by Scubahire Limited, is still used continuously by the National Fire Authority - and still performs to factory specifications 23 years later! Poseidon manufactures a range of medical quality air compressors from 3.5cfm to 28cfm, complete with drive engines, filtering equipment and delivery gauges and valves. However, in Fiji the P200 series - virtually a much later model of the machine sold to the National Fire Authority 23 years ago - is by far the most popular and many resorts, hotels and dive operators use these machines. Two were fitted by Scubahire Limited into Mollie Dean Cruises' new million-dollar live-aboard luxury diveboat, the "Sere ni Wai" and owner Greg Lawlor is extremely happy with the service he has had from both the Poseidon compressors and Scubahire Limited.
